Biochar & Vinegar Production Workshop

In collaboration with Sustainable Agriculture Bangladesh and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, we have organized a workshop in Mura Para, Rupganj, Narayanganj, to train local communities in biochar and wood vinegar production using locally available materials. This initiative aims to enhance soil fertility, waste management, and economic opportunities for rural farmers.

Community Learning:

As part of our Community Learning Initiative, we have partnered with Sustainable Agriculture Bangladesh and Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University to organize a biochar and wood vinegar production workshop in Mura Para, Rupganj, Narayanganj. This initiative is designed to train local farmers and entrepreneurs on utilizing agricultural residues to produce biochar and wood vinegar, which have significant environmental and economic benefits.

The workshop will focus on:

  1. Biochar Production: Teaching efficient, low-cost methods to produce biochar, which improves soil fertility and supports carbon sequestration.
  2. Wood Vinegar Extraction: Demonstrating techniques to produce natural wood vinegar, which can be used as an organic pesticide and soil enhancer.
  3. Economic Empowerment: Helping participants explore market opportunities for biochar and vinegar, creating sustainable income sources.

  4. Waste Reduction & Climate Resilience: Encouraging the use of agricultural waste for biochar instead of open burning, reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable practices.

By integrating academic research with local knowledge, this workshop aims to enhance rural livelihoods, promote climate-smart agriculture, and support sustainable environmental practices. Through this initiative, we strive to build a self-sufficient community that benefits both economically and ecologically.
